If you are a parent seeking more information about your child's learning in relation to PE, please refer to the termly newsletters on your child's class page. You can find the class pages under the 'children' tab.
Extra Curricular Clubs
We offer a broad range of after-school activities. These will be provided free-of-charge, and will be a great way to extend learning opportunities beyond the school day and enrich the opportunities for children to deepen their learning and achievement.
Emails are sent out at the beginning of term to let parents know what activities are available for their child, the email will include a direct link to a booking form.
The activities are available to those who are in the years specified in the details. Children may attend more than one; however, places may be restricted for some of them due to both space and staffing.
Sport Festivals
At St Paul's School, we are proud to be part of the Chippenham Sports Partnership, which organises a wide range of sporting festivals for primary schools across the local area. We strive to attend as many of these events as possible, from inclusive whole-class participation activities to Level 2 competitions in more traditional sports. Our aim is for every child to have the opportunity to take part in at least one extra-curricular sporting event organised through the partnership. Please see below for a list of the events we have attended so far.
The Chippenham Games is an exciting and unforgettable experience for our Yr6 children! Held at the stunning Stanley Park, we arrived to cheering, music, and an atmosphere full of energy and fun. It felt like stepping into our own mini Olympics!
Every child was given a special Chippenham Games t-shirt to wear, which made us feel part of something amazing – and at the end of the day, we were all proudly presented with our own medal, just like real Olympians!
Throughout the day, we got to try so many brilliant activities:
Archery
Golf
Martial arts
Indo boarding
Barclays Girls’ Football
JAX Dance
Tukeball
Lacrosse
Laser pistol shooting
And even face painting!
There was something for everyone — whether we loved sport, movement, creativity, or just having a go at something new. The leaders at each station were so friendly and encouraging, helping us all to try our best and have loads of fun. Our children made friends with other YR6 children in the Chippenham area and new friendship were formed.
We were especially excited to be part of an event at Stanley Park, with Paul Harvey and supported by the secondary school headteachers, Chippenham Town Council and celebrated at the end by the Mayor of Chippenham, who reminded us how important it is to be active, try new things, and support each other.
A huge thank you to The Chippenham Sports Partnership, Selina (Sheldon), Emma (Hardenhuish) and Jessica (Abbeyfield) for hosting such a smooth, exciting, and inspirational day. We truly felt like stars.
We went home with medals around our necks, new memories, and big smiles – already asking, “Can we go again next year?!”
From the moment we arrived, the excitement was sky high as students geared up to tackle a morning full of challenges across the bouldering walls, outdoor climbing tower, and indoor climbing routes. Whether it was their first time climbing or they were seasoned pros, everyone gave it their all!
The session was all about stepping outside of comfort zones, building confidence, and working as a team. The bouldering encouraged problem-solving and resilience, while the towering outdoor climb pushed many to overcome their fears and embrace the adventure. Indoors, students cheered each other on, learning how to trust in themselves and their climbing partners.
It was amazing to see so much determination, laughter, and support flying around – quite literally at times! The energy, encouragement, and positive vibes truly captured what the All Active Academy is all about: getting active, trying new things, and being proud of every single step (and climb!) forward.
Well done to all our climbers – you smashed it! We can’t wait for what’s next in the Academy journey.
What a morning it was for our brilliant Talent Team, as they swapped the sports hall for harnesses at The Arc Climbing Centre in Chippenham! As part of their leadership and personal development journey, they took on the challenge of bouldering, indoor climbing, and outdoor climbing– and absolutely smashed it!
This session wasn’t just about physical strength – it was about mental resilience, trust, and pushing past limits. The Talent Team showed incredible courage as they scrambled up the bouldering walls, tackled the indoor routes with strategy and strength, and conquered the towering outdoor wall with determination and teamwork.
One of the best parts? Watching them encourage each other, offer tips, and celebrate every success – big or small. It was a reminder that leadership comes in many forms, and supporting your teammates is just as powerful as reaching the top of the wall.
For many, this was a brand-new experience, and stepping into the unknown brought out a whole new level of confidence and character.
We’re so proud of how the Talent Team rose to the challenge. This climbing session marks another fantastic milestone in their journey – and if today is anything to go by, they’re going to climb even higher in all they do!
We were very excited for this new edition to our annual programme and had a lovely couple of hours with lots of children within the Partnership. Each group were set the challenge to find certain things such as a bird that chirped, a bumblebee or something that smells sweet. The definite favourite amongst the pupils was finding something sour – a surprise find of haribo Tangfastic!
After running, skipping and hopping to different sections of the field for the scavenger hunt, the groups had a short rest before taking on the second task – animal orienteering! This time they were sent off, seeking a range of animals from frogs to lions to bears (thankfully not real ones!) At each station there were different key words such as friendship, honesty and teamwork which were discussed with the leaders and each group tried to think about why these were important.
We were so pleased to once again see the energy and enthusiasm shown by visiting pupils and loved seeing all their smiley faces.
Thank you to everyone who came to the first ever Summer Scavenger Hunt!

We took part in the a brilliant Barclays Girls football’ Primary Cup to Plate Football Festival.
The event brought together girls from local primary schools to take part in a friendly but competitive football tournament. Following an earlier inter school round, teams were placed into either the Cup or Plate category. Today’s festival saw Cup teams play other Cup teams, and Plate teams play Plate teams, giving everyone the chance to shine on the pitch!
The atmosphere was full of energy, encouragement, and excitement as the girls showcased their skills, teamwork, and love for the game. It was wonderful to see so many young female players growing in confidence and enjoying the opportunity to compete and connect with others.
A big thank you goes to all the schools who took part, the staff who supported the players, and the volunteers who helped make the day run so smoothly. Events like this are a vital part of continuing to grow girls’ football in our area—and it’s safe to say the future of the game is looking bright!
Cricket Festival Level 2
16 May 2025
Another beautiful sunny day for the annual KS2 cricket festival!
There were a lot of teams involved in the tournament so plenty of games were played over the 4 pitches. Dynamo cricket rules are slightly different to traditional cricket, and the addition of ‘free hits’ led to some exciting runs being scored. There were lots of boundaries, run outs and difficult catches being made and we were impressed with the standard of play.

What a ROAR-some time we had at the KS1 Dinosaur Egg Hunt! From the moment we arrived, the excitement was contagious, with lots of dinosaurs, more than we have ever seen! The dinosaur stomp to warm us up and we are ready for our dinosaur leaders to guide us through a thrilling Jurassic journey.
The field was packed with 10 exciting dino-themed activity stations, each one bursting with fun and adventure. We had everything from face painting, where we transformed into our favourite prehistoric creatures, to action-packed games like Dino Snap and Dino obstacle courses, where we carefully carried dino eggs through tricky obstacles.
After each activity, we earned a special dinosaur egg , which we proudly collected along the way. The goal was to complete as many activities as we could and fill our baskets with dino eggs—and we certainly rose to the challenge!
What a fantastic day we had celebrating the London Marathon right here in Chippenham! With the big event happening this weekend, we thought—why not get everyone involved and mark the occasion with our very own Mini Marathon?
The whole school came together for an energetic and joyful start to the day, joining forces with the amazing Chippenham Sports Partnership for a full-school warm-up dance to “YMCA”—and wow, did everyone bring the energy! From teachers to students, it was smiles, laughter, and some brilliant dance moves all around.
Once warmed up and ready to go, the children took to the track for their mini marathon, showing determination, teamwork, and loads of enthusiasm every step of the way. It was more than just a run—it was a celebration of movement, togetherness, and having fun while being active.

Excitement filled the air as our Reception children took part in a fantastic Easter Egg Hunt packed with fun, laughter, and adventure! With 16 different activity stations to explore, there was never a dull moment. From testing their skills in mini golf to strategizing in the thrilling “Steal the Treasure” game, every child had the chance to enjoy a variety of engaging challenges.
Alongside the action-packed games, there was also face painting, where children transformed into their favorite Easter characters, adding an extra layer of magic to the day. But the real mission? Searching high and low for the elusive stripy or dotted eggs hidden throughout the event!
The Easter Egg Hunt was a huge success, bringing smiles, teamwork, and a sprinkle of festive joy to all who participated.
